Use a Miron glass jar with an airtight seal
Light and oxygen are the two primary causes of terpene and cannabinoid degradation. Miron glass addresses light, an airtight seal addresses oxygen, and you need both. A Miron jar without a proper seal is half the solution, and vice versa.
Store at room temperature, away from heat sources
Heat accelerates the evaporation of volatile terpenes, so keep jars away from radiators, direct sunlight, and warm kitchen surfaces. A consistent cool temperature is ideal. The fridge introduces moisture risk; room temperature in a cool, dark location is better for most situations.
Don't store in plastic or clear glass
Plastic is not airtight over time and allows light through. Clear glass offers no light protection at all. Even short-term storage in plastic affects terpene quality, because the terpenes get absorbed into the plastic. This is why your flower smells different after a week in a zip-lock bag.
Use the right size jar for your quantity
A small amount of flower in a large jar means excess air space, which means oxygen exposure even with the lid on. Match the jar to the quantity.
