Sour Brûlée CBD Flower

Sour Brûlée is an Oregon CBD original bred from their GG#4 conversion line - a project to bring the Gorilla Glue #4 terpene character and resin production into a fully compliant CBD cultivar. Grown in a greenhouse by Rogue Family Farms in Southern Oregon. The terpinolene dominance is what makes it unusual - rare in CBD flower - producing an uplifting, clear-headed effect that doesn't match the heavy indica appearance of the buds. Brewed as a loose-leaf herbal tea the sour citrus and cream character translates into the cup as something immediately distinctive - bright and slightly sharp up front, with a warm creamy vanilla quality developing as it steeps. Chunky, frosted buds with a heavy trichome coat. At 14% CBD it's mid-range on potency. A daytime tea that looks like an evening one.

Dominant Terpenes

Terpinolene

Fruity, herbal, floral. Rare as a dominant terpene but unmistakable when it leads. Researched for antioxidant activity.

Caryophyllene

Earthy, spicy, woody. Cracked black pepper and clove. Notable in research as the only terpene known to interact with CB2 receptors.

Myrcene

Earthy, fruity, musky. The dominant terpene in most indica-leaning varieties. Traditionally associated with deep, grounding, hashy profiles.

Effect character

HappyClear-headedFocusedUplifted
A daytime strain with an unusually loud sour-diesel character for a CBD flower. Terpinolene dominates - rare in hemp flower - producing the sour, fresh, piney quality that defines the aroma, with caryophyllene adding diesel depth and the GG#4 genetics bringing a creamy vanilla finish. Heavily frosted, chunky buds from Rogue Family Farms' greenhouse. Uplifting and clear-headed rather than settling - a strain that looks like a nighttime indica but performs like a daytime sativa.

GG#4 x Oregon CBD lineage
Sour Brûlée is an Oregon CBD original - a cross developed from their GG#4 conversion line, a breeding project that took the Gorilla Glue #4 terpene profile and exceptional resin production and bred it into a compliant CBD-dominant hemp cultivar. Oregon CBD's GG#4 work focused on retaining as much of the original character as possible: the sour citrus and diesel nose, the chunky, heavily frosted bud structure, and the trichome density that made GG#4 one of the most recognisable cannabis cultivars of its era - all carried into a Type 3 plant. What makes Sour Brûlée stand out from a terpene standpoint is terpinolene dominance - a trait that's rare in CBD flower and rarer still in a strain with this much structural density. Most heavy, resinous hemp cultivars are myrcene-dominant. Sour Brûlée breaks that pattern entirely: terpinolene leads, producing the fresh, sour, piney quality that defines the aroma. The creamy vanilla finish that distinguishes it from a straight diesel profile comes from the interaction of the full terpene stack with the GG#4 genetics underneath. Grown in a greenhouse environment by Rogue Family Farms on their 80-acre USDA-certified farm in Southern Oregon - protected from the elements under natural light, hand-trimmed and slow-cured with zero pesticides. This CBD-dominant phenotype complies fully with UK hemp regulations.
How & When to Use
Daytime Herbal Tea
Sour Brûlée is a daytime strain despite its heavy, resinous appearance. The terpinolene dominance is the key - terpinolene tends toward uplifting, clear-headed effects rather than the sedation you'd expect from a myrcene-heavy indica, and the aroma and effect profile both sit squarely in the bright, functional daytime category. Rogue Origin position it for creative afternoons, social settings, and anytime you want to stay engaged while the stress melts away. Not an evening option. Best prepared as a loose-leaf herbal tea. The aroma on opening is immediately loud - strong sour citrus and diesel up front, with a creamy vanilla quality underneath that makes it genuinely distinctive. Large, chunky, heavily trichome-covered buds from the greenhouse grow. At 14% CBD it sits in the mid-potency range. Results may vary.
