Something Very Special This Week
Right folks! Today we have something VERY special for all of you CBD Heads out there! For those that don't know - I LOVE Hashish! I shall say it again - I LOVE Hashish! It was how I started my Cannabis journey and will therefore always have a special place in my heart. So this week's review is like a busman's holiday for yours truly.
I had been aware of a company in Switzerland that had allegedly been not only supplying but also producing their own CBD Hash in Europe and the World for quite some time. Not just any CBD Hash though. CBD Hash that was cultivated and produced in not only Switzerland, but the legendary Rif Mountains area of Morocco too. Unsurprisingly this Hash has quite rightly earned the reputation of being the very best CBD Hash available in the World. For a long time I looked at it on their official website and the few EU vendors that I could find who carried it. I approached both the company who produced it and those EU vendors multiple times in an ultimately vain effort to acquire some.
That company of course is none other than the one, the only - Goldbar420. The very thought of acquiring some of that Hash became both a personal mission and obsession of mine. But no matter what I tried and whoever I contacted, nothing ever came of it - to my immense frustration. I finally resigned myself to the fact that Goldbar420 was never going to be on my menu. Ever.
Until that is, our very own Howard Marks of the CBD World managed not only to open lines of communication with Goldbar420 - but also managed to finally bring some of it over to us here in the UK. Yet another first for that great pioneer who is the founder of Originals CBD. First Flow Gardens, then more premier US Flower and now Goldbar420. No one does things quite like Sean, that's for sure. The very definition of a pioneer.
The Package That Arrived
So obviously I tried all of the Goldbar420 range from Originals CBD as soon as it hit our shores and I LOVED every little piece of it. But just recently the legends at Originals CBD decided to send me a half ounce pack from their current Goldbar420 range to sample and review. Was this a dream? Four beautiful, gorgeous, tasty and oh so very moreish eighths of - in my personal opinion - the very best CBD Hash available within the CBD World currently.
We've got an eighth of the 0003 Strawberry Beldi, an eighth of the 0005 Goldtonic Beldi, an eighth of the 0006 Amnesia x OG and an eighth of the 0010 Harlequin x Amnesia. I literally cannot wait to get stuck into this Hashish. So let's start with one of my personal favourites - the 0005 Goldtonic Beldi.
What Is the 0005 Goldtonic Beldi?
The 0005 Goldtonic Beldi is a limited edition Hash with a Total CBD content of 25.87%. It was produced by Goldbar420 in 2024 using Swiss Goldtonic genetics, grown at 1,200 to 1,800 metres altitude in the Ounas Edin valley within Morocco's Rif Mountains. It has been traditionally harvested and processed using the tam-tam technique - a centuries-old method of making Hashish.
This Hash was not produced in a lab or a warehouse on the cheap. Nor has it been bulked out with distillate, isolate or anything else artificial or synthetic. It is a completely organic, natural Hashish - as far removed from cheap Formula Hash as it could possibly be.
A Word on Formula Hash - and Why It Matters
Now while we're on the subject of cheap Formula Hash - I have always been immensely suspicious and wary of the overwhelming majority of CBD Hash available within the UK. Simply because the overwhelming majority of it is in fact cheap Formula Hash that is nothing like true Hash in the slightest. Yes, it may well sometimes look like Hash, yes it may well even smell like Hash. But it certainly does not behave nor taste like Hash in any way shape or form and is nowhere near as pleasurable to consume as the real thing. In my opinion it is an extremely poor, potentially dangerous substitute that needs to be viewed with the utmost caution and suspicion by the consumer.
To me personally cheap Formula Hash is the modern CBD equivalent of Soapbar. That scourge of the UK Hash market that reared its ugly head sometime during the 90s - which for me personally signalled the demise of the Hash market in this country from then onwards. Soapbar was produced by taking kilos of beautiful Moroccan Hashish, pulverising them and mixing them with a truly horrifying list of adulterants. All in order to produce a product that could be made cheaply and easily while generating significant profits from very little investment. The end product was absolutely awful.
Cheap Formula CBD Hash operates on a similar principle. Produced with profit and profit in mind only. A mixer, some spurious ingredients - which could be anything including but not limited to plant material, research chemicals, artificial colouring, inorganic flavourings and synthetic terpenes. This concoction is mixed until the required colour and consistency is achieved. If this were done by gangsters I could quite understand it. But this is being produced and sold by people who have the audacity to claim they care about their customers - which I find laughable. These companies do not deserve your custom in any way shape or form.
However - all is not lost and it is not all doom and gloom! There are some admittedly rare gems floating about the UK market at present. Originals CBD has also been working with some exciting new Formula Hash additions to the range - more on that very soon.
Anyway, enough of my ranting, raving and riddles. Let's get back to the good stuff. The PROPER stuff.
Aroma - Straight Back to the Late 90s
For those of a certain age, just opening the Mylar and taking a sniff will evoke some extremely pleasant memories of happy days gone by. I started my Cannabis journey with Hashish and this 0005 Goldtonic Beldi takes me straight back to the late 90s when I first started - a time when you were easily able to purchase Hashish of many different varieties.
The eighth pack contained six lumps of beautifully aromatic, golden Hash that weighed in at a nice 3.89 grams. Straight away I was reminded of that gorgeous, high-grade Moroccan Polm and Pollen that was readily available back then - as this 0005 Goldtonic Beldi is extremely similar in both appearance and smell.
For any Hash aficionado the smell of this is to die for. Earthy, spicy, woody, kushy, Hashy goodness that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. If it's the first time you've encountered Goldbar420 there will be a feeling of total disbelief. You will say to yourself that no CBD Hash can possibly smell this good. But it's true - it can. Because this is actually Hash in the truest sense of the word.
Appearance and Texture - As Close to Primero Polm as It Gets
The Hash is dense and slightly harder than other Goldbar420 Hashes that I have tried. But it handles like an absolute dream and crumbles absolutely perfectly with the minimal amount of pressure. In my opinion it is as close to Primero Polm and Pollen as is humanly possible - the closest CBD equivalent that you're ever likely to see and handle.
Taste - Exquisite, Divine, Exactly Like It Smells
It tastes absolutely exquisite - divine even. It tastes exactly like it smells, if not even better. It is so, so, so smooth to consume making the whole experience an absolute pleasure. Honestly if you like your Hash then this Goldbar420 0005 Goldtonic Beldi is a sheer joy to experience.
Effects - End of Day Bliss
Effects are wonderful, adding even more to an already fantastic experience. A sheer blissful, zen-like state that is really only suited as an end of day thing if you know what I mean. Yes, Benzil has tried some during daylight hours - in the interest of research and science obviously! - but I'm telling you now that he didn't get much done afterwards. With this Hash you'll want to read a favourite book, listen to some music, watch your favourite film, sit and just chill, or get outside and enjoy what the Universe has to offer you.
I honestly cannot praise this Hash highly enough and am just so very grateful that I got the chance to sample this Goldbar420 Hash via the legends at Originals CBD.
Verdict - The Best CBD Hash Available. Full Stop.
Well it certainly looks like you're all cottoning onto this Goldbar420 goodness too! I've just been on the Originals CBD website and this 0005 Goldtonic Beldi is clean out of stock. Which is absolutely fantastic as far as I'm concerned - it means yet more CBD Heads are tuning in and switching on to the sheer magic that is Goldbar420. Which hopefully in turn leads to yet more of this pure gold reaching our shores in the very near future on a more regular basis.

Personally I would love to take a trip over to Morocco to see the Goldbar420 operation first hand. But I fear that rather than choosing to come back to Blighty, Benzil may just decide to stay in Morocco producing CBD Hash for the rest of his life. Alternatively he may well just decide to stay in their storage facility and happily starve to death whilst being surrounded by bars of Moroccan Goldbar420. I can certainly think of far worse fates.
